Help topics
Getting started
A new installation opens a guided setup that creates your first complete study space. Follow the prompts to create:
Profile → Subject → Test → Deck → Flashcard
Enter a future deadline for the test and a question and answer for the first card. Your progress is saved after each step.
To pause setup, tap Exit, then Save and Explore Lmhy. Resume it from the card on the Study screen or from Settings → Lmhy → Continue Guided Setup.
After completing setup, you can replay a non-destructive demonstration at Settings → Lmhy → Practice Guided Setup.
How Lmhy is organized
- Profiles separate learners and their study activity.
- Subjects represent courses or broad areas of study.
- Tests connect study material to a goal and deadline.
- Decks contain related notes and can support multiple tests.
- Notes are the editable source material that generates study cards.
- Cards are shown during review and scheduled according to your ratings.
If you want nested folders, imports, reusable assignments, detailed filters, saved selections, and deck-level scheduling controls, enable Settings → General → Advanced Mode.
For an illustrated explanation of every area, open Settings → Lmhy → Explore Lmhy.
Creating flashcards
- Open the Decks tab.
- Create or open a deck.
- Tap New Note.
- Choose the appropriate card type and enter your content.
- Preview the card, then save it.
Available card types
- Basic: a direct question and answer.
- Cloze: hides selected parts of a statement.
- Multiple choice: provides one answer and plausible alternatives.
Rich study content
Cards can contain formatted text, images, audio recordings, equations, drawings, hints, tags, and existing mindmap content. OCR document and image scanning requires Lmhy Premium.
Keep each prompt focused. If a note changes meaning substantially, consider whether the generated card’s previous learning progress should be retained or reset.
Studying and adaptive review
Open the Study tab to see cards ready for review. During a session:
- Read the prompt and try to recall the answer.
- Reveal the answer.
- Choose the rating that best describes your recall.
- Lmhy calculates the next review using adaptive spaced repetition.
Use Learn Now when you want a focused session. You can select material by subject, test, deck, due date, learning state, tags, search, or exact cards.
Preview mode displays a card without changing its schedule, review history, or statistics.
Mindmaps
- Open the Mindmaps tab.
- Create a mindmap and use the full-screen canvas to draw or annotate.
- Save it, then edit its name, description, or folder as needed.
- Reopen the canvas later or reuse its visual content in a flashcard.
The free version includes one mindmap. Lmhy Premium allows unlimited mindmaps.
Apple Intelligence
On a supported device, open a deck and tap the Apple Intelligence button to create editable study material from a topic or source text.
- Apple Intelligence must be enabled in the device’s Settings.
- The required on-device models must have finished preparing.
- Availability depends on the device, system language, region, and operating system.
- Generated content can contain mistakes. Review every question and answer before saving.
The free version includes up to 10 Apple Intelligence card creations per calendar month. Premium removes this limit.
Importing and exporting
Enable Advanced Mode to expose import and additional organization controls.
Import a deck
- Open Decks.
- Tap Import.
- Select a supported Lmhy package, plain-text file, or Anki package.
- Create a new deck or merge the imported notes into an existing deck.
Export a deck
Open the deck’s additional-actions menu and choose an export format and destination. Lmhy packages and plain-text transfers are available in the free version. Anki package import and export require Premium.
Settings, reminders, and personalization
- Change the app language, appearance, and color palette under General and Appearance.
- Enable the daily due-card reminder and choose a time under General → Notifications.
- Choose a heatmap, daily mission, badge showcase, or progress garden under Engagement.
- Add the Lmhy widget from the system widget gallery for quick study status and review access.
Notifications are sent only when enabled and relevant. If reminders do not appear, confirm that notification permission is enabled for Lmhy in the system Settings app.
Custom card fonts, colors, alignment, and review-card backgrounds require Premium.
Troubleshooting
Apple Intelligence is unavailable
Confirm that your device supports Apple Intelligence, it is enabled in system Settings, and its on-device models have finished downloading. Downloads depend on network, power, storage, and system conditions. The rest of Lmhy remains usable without this feature.
The camera scanner is unavailable
Document scanning requires Lmhy Premium, camera permission, and a supported physical device. Camera scanning may not work in Simulator. You can import an image instead.
Audio recording does not start
Enable microphone access for Lmhy in the system Settings app, then return to the card editor and try again.
I cannot find import, folders, or detailed scheduling
Turn on Settings → General → Advanced Mode. These controls are hidden by default to keep the initial workflow simple.
A reminder did not arrive
Confirm that reminders are enabled in Lmhy and notifications are allowed in system Settings. Due-card reminders are scheduled when cards are ready; they are not generic daily alerts.
Premium is not recognized
Confirm that the device uses the Apple Account that purchased the subscription, check the internet connection, and tap Restore Purchases on the Premium screen. If the problem continues, contact support.
Where is my study data stored?
Your study library is stored locally on your device. Lmhy does not operate an account or cloud synchronization service. Export important decks before deleting the App, because removing the App and its local data can permanently remove your library.
Privacy and legal information
Lmhy does not collect personal information or usage analytics. Read the complete Lmhy Privacy Policy.
